ABOUT US

All at Yorkshire Water Features are very proud to celebrate our first 15 years in business as a Ltd Company on 17th February 2024. From our humble beginnings we are now the National Trust’s preferred supplier of specialist water features, and the largest manufacturer and supplier of bespoke fabricated water wall, rill and rain arch water features in the UK.

We have a no nonsense, straightforward approach to all our projects, however small or large they are; and take pride in our proven ability to deliver on time and within budget – whilst ensuring the highest quality and service.

All our bespoke water features are made in the UK by a very experienced and talented team of committed individuals who possess a unique range of skills and abilities producing quality bespoke water features to ensure your dream becomes a reality

We’ve seen many changes and personnel come and go during this time but at heart we are still a family run business.

Originally begun as a hobby in 1996 by 2 freinds, Brendon Maxwell and our founder Jeff Lockhart – who made simple garden planters and basic oak barrel water features, selling them at garden shows until work and family commitments brought it to a close in 1998.

Jeff resurrected the business in 2008 and Yorkshire Water Features was incorporated in 2009, Starting with a range of hand made oak barrel features sold at Garden and County Shows across the country we embarked on our first major design and installation project in 2012 with our “Yorkshire Rose” fountains for Breezy Knees Gardens in York.

In 2013 we introduced our first stainless steel water walls and rills and by 2014 they had replaced the oak barrel products.

2015 saw our design, manufacture and installation of our huge floating magic tap water feature for Butlin’s Skegness resort and this led to us manufacturing and selling smaller versions of these worldwide.

That same year saw us design, fabricate and install a huge copper water feature at Cowesby Hall,Thirsk

2016 saw us winning the contract for two large water features at the London Electric Vehicle Companies flagship £500 million worldwide HQ and Production Facility at Coventry.

2017 ushered in a unique “Islamic” style infinity edge shallow pool water feature with bubble and cross jets for a private client followed by our work with Blenheim Developments and two large water features at their Dore Road Manor project.

2018 was dominated by our foray into full landscaping services with the Doncaster Hospice Garden and a huge complete garden for a private client in Bawtry – featuring a massive curved copper water wall.

2019 saw us busy with a huge 4 metre water wall and twin shallow pool features at the Northern Shell Building,Lower Thames St, London.

That same year we installed a huge 43 metre rill in the Memorial Garden of Littlethorpe Manor, together with a feature floating sphere, corten steps and planters.

At the end of the year – we installed a large tiled rill and pool feature for a private client in Market Rasen

2020 began with us designing and beginning the installation of 3 large granite water features at the new headquarters of the EG Group in Blackburn – Covid interrupted things and the project was not completed until late that year.

2021 saw us retreat from the larger projects and concentrate on developing our range of self contained water walls, rain arch features and rills – sales of these hitting new highs.

2022 continued in a similar vein and then as we entered 2023 it became clear that we needed to upscale and improve on our fabrication capabilities to manage demand and also further increase the quality of our products.

That year saw us design and build our first “Aquaglobe” features and then our unique “Vortex” water feature

YWF can now offer unlimited fabrication services and our range of bespoke water walls, pools and rill systems in Stainless Steel, Aluminium ( Powder coated) Copper and Corten Steel are the best value and quality available.

Following on from this, in 2023 we were invited by the National Trust to manufacture and install a water feature for their exciting “Mediterranean Garden” project, designed by Andy Sturgeon at Beningbrough Hall, York. This is currently in production with installation taking place this Spring and Summer.

2023 also saw us design and install 2 huge indoor water features in the Kirby and Witney showrooms of Ultima kitchens which are due to open this spring – giving us an ideal showcase for our water walls.

All in all it’s been a very busy and exciting 15 years and there is much to look forwards to in the future
