Water Globes

“Hi Jeff – many thanks – it’s fabulous and working perfectly” Regards – Wayne Humphries[/caption]

Similar water features have existed for some while, but we wanted to take them to a new level in terms of thickness of materials and the standard of polishing – and unlike any others – provision to securely mount and stabilize the feature.
Finally we have taken the lighting to a new level offering a variety of options, and the whole process is explained here to allow you to fully understand our approach.
Step 1

This is the stainless steel dished end being collected from the specialist manufacturer, here in the UK. This example is made from 6mm thick grade 304 stainless steel with a diameter of 2030mm and an internal height of 331mm it can hold 539 litres of water and itself weighs 156 kgs.
Clearly with that weight – not the sort of thing that should be merely placed, loose on the ground or anywhere without being securely and safely held in place.
The spinning process leaves very many concentric rings or high spots on both surfaces.
Step 2
Next we make the frame using stainless steel, this is concreted into the ground and allows for leveling the whole feature and also ensures it is securely mounted

Back at the fabrication department – the matching stainless steel plinth is welded to the dish and is fitted with the mounting plate matching the frame for ease of installation. The access hatch allows all the electrical connections to be made safely and also provides a suitable dry space for the LED light transformer and the mains connections.

Next the plastic pump housing and globe mounting platform are offered up to ensure all is at the correct height, then it’s all off to the specialist polishers

Step 3
Polishing a hard material such as this to a mirror finish and smooth flat surface is painstaking, highly specialized and very labour intensive work – this is why our dish features are the only version of these that don’t have to add disclaimers such as this – “The dishes on the aqualens may have minor imperfections due to the nature of the spinning process”.
The cost of this process is significant, yet our overall prices are still very competitive

We offer a huge choice of central LED lights from simple white 2 watt versions up to remote control color changing versions such as this one currently being built in our workshops

And here is the end product – recently installed for a private client in Virginia Water and due to be planted around and up lighters fitted shortly.

This example, as detailed above and installed in April 2023 is 2030mm diameter stainless steel dish mounted on a 350mm high central plinth with a central warm white LED light costs £11,995 plus VAT complete and installed.
We can make these in a range of sizes and different metals – either Copper or mild steel that can then be powder coated any colour.
The specialist acrylic globes are only available up to a maximum size of 600mm diameter – if interested in a smaller version, please call us to discuss the many options available.
